How We Machine the Raptor 50 in America: From Raw Steel to Ready-to-Ship Precision

When you buy a Raptor 50, you’re not getting an imported upper that was simply assembled in the U.S. Every single one is machined from start to finish right here in our Florida facility using certified American steel.

We believe the only way to build a safe, reliable 50 BMG upper that can handle extreme chamber pressures for years is to control every step of the process ourselves. Here’s exactly how we do it.

Incomign raw steel1. Raw Material with Total Traceability

It starts with certified American steel. Every incoming shipment is logged, tracked, and traceable all the way back to the mill certification. We maintain a complete paper trail so we know exactly what material goes into every Raptor 50 upper receiver, bolt head, and critical component.

No imported mystery steel. No outsourcing. Just verified high-grade American material.

Bolt Head on Lathe2. Precision CNC Machining In-House

This is where the Raptor 50 earns its reputation for quality. Critical parts — especially the bolt head that must contain the massive force of the .50 BMG — are machined on our CNC equipment to tolerances tighter than standard AR-15 components.

We don’t just machine the receiver. We machine the heavy-duty hammer, muzzle brake, and other key components in-house so every part meets our exacting standards. This level of control is why the Raptor 50 has a proven track record spanning nearly two decades.

Bolt Head Heat Treated3. Heat Treatment for Strength & Safety

After machining, every critical steel component goes through a specialized heat-treatment process. This optimizes the grain structure of the metal, giving it the perfect balance of hardness (to resist wear) and toughness (to absorb the violent shock of 50 BMG pressures).

The result? A component that doesn’t just meet minimum safety requirements — it’s over-engineered for real-world use by serious shooters who demand reliability.

Raptor 50 at the rangeWhy This Matters to You

When you pull the trigger on a Raptor 50, you’re trusting your safety and the performance of the rifle to the components we machine. By keeping every step in-house with full traceability and rigorous heat treatment, we deliver a 50 BMG upper you can count on for thousands of rounds.

This is the same commitment to American craftsmanship that has kept the Raptor 50 design proven and refined for over 17 years.
